SMS (Preschool & Kindergarten)

We offer two programs:  a 1/2 day Kindergarten school program for 5 & 6-yr. An afternoon that serves as the perfect introduction for our proven and respected Pre-Kindergarten programs.

Grade School (Grades 1st thru 5th)

Offering standard classes from 1st to 5th grade ranging from Math, Science, Reading, Quran, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, Gym, and several other subjects.

Middle School (Grades 6th thru 9th)

Offering not only core subjects (Islamic Studies, Math, Grammar, etc) but a variety of elective choices from Quran, Arabic Language, and Computer Science/Programming and Art classes. Students well are prepared for life choices after high school (college prep).

Submit your child(s) application online through the application tool. Please make sure to click on the link to complete the first step.
Application Review
After completing the first step, our Admissions administrator team will review your child’s application. Once the review is completed and your child’s application has been accepted, we will notify you by the communication preferences that you selected on how to proceed with the next step.
Complete Registration
Once your child’s application has been accepted, you will be asked to complete registration forms to finalize your child’s enrollment at our School. These forms will help identify certain information to better serve your child.
Student Orientation
We will contact you to schedule a date and time for you and your family to visit our academy for student orientation. Due to COVID-19, school visitations are limited for your safety and our staff.

Frequently asked questions

All Lower Junior classes are taught predominantly by their form teachers and teaching assistants within their own classrooms. The exceptions are Quran, Arabic Language, and Islamic Studies, all of which are taught by specialist staff.

What is the student/teacher ratio?

Our Pre-K class is limited to twenty-three students with one teacher. Kindergarten through 5th grades have a limit of twenty-two students per teacher, and 6th-9th grades are limited to twenty students per teacher.

What grades do you offer?

We offer Pre-K (4-year-olds) through 9th grade currently. In the future planning to starting through 12th Grade.

What is the attendance policy?

Saskatchewan started compulsory schooling in 1909. Children between the ages of seven and thirteen years inclusive were required to attend school for one hundred days, sixty of those consecutive. The School Attendance Act, introduced in 1917, expanded on these laws, compelling children between ages seven and fourteen to attend school for the whole year in session. Children attaining grade eight equivalent were exempted. In 1922, the minimum school leaving age was raised to fifteen and in 1965, Saskatchewan raised the school leaving age again to sixteen. The grade eight equivalent exemption remained until 1975.

What equipment is required?

Our institution provides each student with a laptop and internet service free of charge for the duration of the program.  Equipment is the property of SMS  Preparatory and must be returned upon completion of the program.

Do I need additional course material such as textbooks or special programs?

No. All course material will be provided to students once he/she logs into his/her courses, which includes all support materials and programs. SMS Preparatory has made arrangements with software and major publishers to ensure all our students have legal access to the resources necessary to complete their course work.
